Yellow Springs has a long history of welcoming, accepting and supporting people who felt unwelcome in other parts of the world. Beginning in the early 19th century through today with equality of all peoples, through the support of equality for women, civil rights, equality in marriage and the inclusion of LGBTQ peoples. Yellow Springs has always been progressive in their mindset and action for these principals.
It is up to all of us in our community to continue to work together towards a world where all people can enjoy their rights fully.
In celebration of Pride and its focus on diversity, Yellow Springs hosts an event on the last Saturday of June. We gather to educate, learn, dance, sing, listen, and enjoy each other's diversities. We welcome everyone who would like to enjoy these qualities.
The Pride event is held at the Bryan Center from 11am to 5pm with a Pride Parade following the event. YS Pride invites local businesses to participate throughout that weekend as well. Several non-profit organizations participate at no cost to offer needed resources. In addition, we highlight several LGBTQ artists, vendors, musicians, and their allies.
As the event comes closer a complete schedule is posted.
